Amanda Ta

Amanda Ta is an aspiring clinical psychologist and scientist, undergraduate researcher, and student at San Diego State University (SDSU) whose work and interests involve public housing tobacco/vaping policies and EEG-based cognitive neuroimaging.

Research

Amanda’s research focuses on how environmental and sociocultural factors, such as substance exposure and socioeconomic conditions, interact with psychological processes to influence mental health outcomes. She has conducted research on smoke- and vape-free housing policies, and is currently assisting in EEG-based measures of cognitive control, aiming to better understand the mechanisms underlying emotional disorders and mental health disparities in low-income and immigrant populations.
